On Wednesday, UK’s leading blue-chip index, FTSE 100, ended the day 0.01% lower, with real estate, oil & gas producers, and media sectors falling the most at the close.
The biggest gainers on the index at the end of the session were CRH PLC which gained 3.03% or 89.0 points to settle at 3025, Glencore Pvt Ltd Company surging 2.75% or 4.54 points to trade at 169.40 in the late session, and Rolls-Royce Holdings which added further 4.43% or 6.65 points to end the day at 156.65.
Similarly, the worst performers on the index were EasyJet PLC which shed 3.33% or 18.00 points to late trade at 523.40, Relx Pvt Ltd Co. which fell 2.95% or 51.00 points to settle the day at 1676, and Tui AG which slumped 2.74% or 8.60 points to 305.10 at the close.
Overall, losers dominated the gainers by 1154 to 1050, with 149 shares trading unchanged at the London Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, GBP/USD and EUR/GBP gained 0.31% and 0.04% to trade at 1.2916 and 0.9112, respectively.
The US Dollar Index Futures traded at 93.653 after falling 0.10%.
