The Chinese firm ByteDance Ltd and owner of the renowned and controversial TikTok video app has decided to shift its focus in the South Asian country Singapore after getting snubbed by the US recently.
As part of its global expansion scheme in Asia and other regions, Singapore would be anointed as the beachhead for the company.
The conglomerate, with its headquarters in Beijing, is planning to spend billions to further its agenda. That would include jobs to several hundreds of people over the next coming years. Interestingly, the timing is crucial as TikTok is being forced to sell its operations under the Trump regime
