On Tuesday, Canada share market ended the trade session day lower, with S&P/TSX Composite plunging 1.08% in the Toronto, dragged majorly by IT, healthcare, and materials sector.
The top performers on the index were Parex Resources Incorporation which surged 3.78% or 0.54 points to settle the day at 14.81, Trillium Therapeutics Incorporation adding 3.71% or 0.72 points to trade at 20.15 in the late session, and Cargojet which gained 5.10% or 9.98 points to end the day at 205.69.
Similarly, worst gainers on the exchange were Cascades Incorporation slumping 8.06% or 1.42 points to settle the day at 16.19, Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. falling 7.57% or 0.37 points to trade at 4.52, and Centerra Gold Inc shedding 15.31% or 2.41 points to close the session at 13.33.
Overall, the falling stocks outnumbered gainers by 627 to 417, with 125 settling the day unchanged on the market. The US Dollar Index Futures traded at 93.817, surging 0.29%, with CAD/USD and CAD/EUR falling 0.26% and rising 0.07% to 0.7517 and 0.6400, respectively in the same order.
