On Thursday, Canadian share market index, S&P/TSX Composite, settled 0.67% higher, making it head for a new one month high. The top-performing sectors on the index were energy, healthcare, and consumer discretionary at the end in the market.
The top gainers were Bausch Health Companies which advanced 11.72% or 2.50 to close the day at 23.84, Aphria Incorporation rose 10.24% or 0.695 points to trade at 7.485, and Canopy Growth Corp which added 13.03% or 2.680 points to end the trade at 23.255.
The worst losers on the exchange were Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners LP falling 3.99% or 2.81 points to settle the day at 67.63, Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation which plunged 3.02% or 0.45 points to trade at 14.46, and Ballard Power Systems Incorporation shedding 4.24% or 1.03 points to late trade at 23.29 in the session.
Overall, gainers dominated losers by 750 to 321, with 101 settled unchanged at the Toronto stock exchange. The US Dollar Index Futures was at 93.630, falling 0.05%, with CAD/USD and CAD/EUR rising 0.45% and 0.50% to 0.7577 and 0.6444.
