On Tuesday, Canada stocks close the session up, with index S&P/TSX Composite 1.47% higher, after surges in financial, cleantech, and IT sectors drag the market high at the close.
The top performers on the index were Cargojet Incorporation which surged 18.15 points or 8.09% to settle at 242.55, HudBay Minerals gained 0.45 points or 7.43% to late trade at 6.51, and Torex Gold Resources which added 1.87 points or 9.94% to end the day at 20.68.
The worst performers on the S&P/TSX Composite are Aurinia Pharmaceuticals which shed 2.23 points or 10.88% to trade at 18.26, Nutrien Limited which fell 4.16 points or 7.56% to end at 50.84, Bausch Health Companies Incorporation which plummeted 1.46 points or 6.37% to settle at 21.45.
Overall, gaining shares outnumbered falling ones by 646 to 343, with 123 stocks closing the day unchanged at the close in Toronto.
Meanwhile, the USD index futures fell to 93.58, or 0.60% and top pairs CAD/EUR and CAD/USD were 0.12% down and 0.39% up, trading at 0.6489 and 0.7593, respectively.
